Obituary of William Headley
William ?Bill? A. Headley, 73, of Mooresville, passed away on May 7, 2010. He was born on May 22, 1936 in Elwood, IN to Amos and Mary (Farr) Headley. Bill was a Veteran of the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from the FAA as an air traffic controller after 29 years of service and most recently from Mooresville Consolidated School Corporation, where he was a bus driver for the special needs pre-school route. Bill was an ordained minister who pastored several churches and perfomed numerous weddings and funerals. He and his wife, Shirley, started the first AWANA youth club in Mooresville and have been active in their churches as youth leaders, Sunday school teachers, and Seniors pastors. Bill was a member of Springhill Christian Church. He loved his family and his church. Bill is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Otis Headley. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley (Beeman) Headley; children, Bill and Judy Headley, and Angela Headley; brothers and their wives, Jim and Barb Headley, Jack and Marty Headley; grandchildren, Rachel Headley, Caleb and Crystal McKinney, Sarah and Mark Arnold, Rosie and Joe Behymer and Malachi and BreAunna McKinney; and great grandson, Gavin Arnold. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at Springhill Christian Center in Mooresville. Arrangements were entrusted to Stevens Mortuary & Family Center, Indpls. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations go towards a park bench in Bill?s name at Pioneer Park in Mooresville, where Bill and Shirley spent much of their time.
