Obituary of Betty J. West
Betty Jane West, 94, of Brownsburg passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020. She was born in Indianapolis, IN to Homer and Grace E. Croucher on July 22, 1925. Betty worked for L.S. Ayres & Co. and Ayr-Way until she retired on October 12, 1978. She liked playing Bingo, completing word search books, listening to piano players and DQ ice cream. Betty would get her hair done every Thursday, her favorite hair dresser was Sue Gill. She enjoyed visiting her friends in the nursing home, having visits with Jeff Berkey, who brought her flowers and visits by her ex daughter-in-law, Pam Devlin. Her favorite nurse at Brownsburg Health Care was Jennifer. Betty loved her pet dog, Scotty, he was her favorite companion. Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Roy Francis West. She is survived by her sons, Robert M. (Otera) Walsh of West Palm Beach, FL and Thomas L. Walsh of New Tripoli, PA; grandsons, Michael Walsh of West Palm Beach, FL and Chadwick Walsh of OH; granddaughters, Julia Walsh of West Palm Beach, FL and Amanda Rex of New Tripoli, PA; great grandchildren, Mattie Walsh and Rylan Walsh of West Palm Beach, FL and Colin Rex, Landen Rex, Brinley Rex and Hailey Rex all of New Tripoli, Pa; step-daughter, Rebecca Sue Forst of Englewood, FL; step-son, Roy S. (Cynthia) West of Brownsburg, IN; step-grandsons, Ceburn Roy Parker of Englewood, FL and David Allen Parker of Venice, FL; step-grandchildren, Anthony West, Daniel West and Theresa West all of IN; step- great grandchildren, Alea, Ryan and Harlee all of FL and Austin Hyde, Julia Hyde, Emma West, Anna West, Amelia West, Sheldon West and Callum West all of IN; nephews, Larry Broady of FL and Raymond Croucher of IN; niece, Kathy Broady of Mexico; and her sister-in-law, Mary Durham of Brownsburg, IN.
