Chuck was born at the naval base in Charleston, South Carolina to Mary Emma Schwab Wilson and Charles Thomas Wilson on 9/18/1952. He went to high school at Madison Consolidated High School and graduated in 1970. He went on to earn a BS in Public Health and Environmental Science in 1974 from Indiana State University. He worked in a variety of positions in Public Health and Environmental Management for the Marion County Public Health Department and the Indiana Department of Envionmental Management for almost 40 years, in addition to a small amount of time in the private sector within the same fields. He also ran his own business on the side doing lawn care. Chuck was in the Indiana Army National Guard, transferred to the Indiana National Guard Reserve and later transferred again to the US Army Reserve: Inactive Ready Reserve spanning from 1987 until he was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain in 1997. He received many awards in his career with Public Health and Environmental Science, as well as from the Army National Guard.
Chuck thoroughly enjoyed various sports and played on many teams including being a hockey goalie, as well as participating in softball, football, golf, and bowling. When he retired he kept himself busy building bird, butterfly, and bat houses as well as globe shaped multi-light decorations to give as gifts for all his family, friends, and anyone else who admired them. He adored animals, especially dogs and cats, and for a while even had his own animal shelter out of his home. He dearly loved all the many pets that he had throughout his life. Later in life, Chuck and his wife enjoyed playing with, having as family members, and showing their frisky Cairn Terriers, which also widened their friendships with other Cairn Terrrier lovers throughout the world. Whenever Chuck became aware of a family member, a friend, or even a stanger, experiencing difficulties, he did whatever he could to help them out.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Hope Pitschke Wilson; his daughters, Stephanie Cross and Erin Wilson; his son, Jacob Adkins; his sister, Terry Bolden; 5 nieces; 2 nephews; and 5 grandchildren.
