Obituary of Gerald Martin Wills
Gerald Martin Wills, 83, of Avon, IN, formerly of Macomb, MI passed away on May 29, 2019. Gerald was born on March 28, 1936 in Detroit, MI to Howard and Marian Wills, both preceding him in death. Gerald was enlisted in the National Guard where he served proudly. He retired from Chrysler Corporation, Sterling Stamping Plant in Sterling Heights, MI where he was the plant’s Machine Maintenance Manager. He was an avid sports fan and devoted to his Detroit Lions, Tigers and Red Wings. He liked to watch professional sport teams play, but watching his grandchildren play sports was his ultimate enjoyment later in life. Gerald enjoyed his country music, puzzles of every type, and spending quality time with his family. He was a loving and devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather that cared deeply and supported and loved unconditionally. He was loved by so many and will be missed by all. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Diane (Ziehm) Wills; daughters Brenda Tago of Avon, IN and Deborah McGee of Sterling Heights, MI; son-in-law, Wayne Tago of Avon, IN; step-sons, Harold (Maria) Shipley of Chesterfield, MI and James Shipley of Sterling Heights, MI; granddaughter, Madison Rochon; grandsons, Thomas Shipley, Elijah Tago, Dominick Tago, David McGee and Charlie McGee. A Celebration of Life was held in Sterling Heights, MI on June 22, 2019.
