Obituary of Harry Bewley
Harry Russell (Russ) Bewley, 86, of Avon IN, passed away on March 9th, 2019 in Brownsburg IN.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date
Harry/Russ was born in Kentucky to Luther and Lilly Mae Bewley on December 21, 1932. Russ was a veteran who proudly served his country as a Corporal in the Army. He was married to his wife Joyce for 66 years.
Russ worked as a Machine Operator and Supervisor for Linkbelt of Avon In for more than 30 years until retirement in 1988. He often worked more than one job. Throughout the years as an auto mechanic, He worked for many companies in this capacity as well as fixing all family and friends’ cars. He also worked many years at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as he loved Auto, motorcycle, and Gocart Racing. He also enjoyed Skeet and sport shooting, hunting, and fishing with yearly trips to Canada in his younger years.
After retirement Russ enjoyed many years at home with his family, spending time feeding and watching the birds and wildlife outdoors. He had a real love for food as well and is best remembered for feeding all the babies in the family ice cream long before they were aloud solid food.
Harry is survived by his wife, Joyce of Avon IN, his Sister Reba Gentry,
Children, Sherrie Harvey (Victor),Laura Burton, Russell Bewley, and Elizabeth Wilson
8 Grand children, Jennifer Harvey, Andrew Harvey(Shannon), Eric Harvey, Susanne Harrington (Rodney), Jason Burton (Michelle), Rachelle Burton (Keith Anderson), Steven Bewley, Ashley Wilson
12 Great Grand Children, Jessica Page (Matt), Jordan Harrington, Craig Harrington, Tiffany Jones (Jake), Emily Tatum, Logan Tatum, Dylan Anderson, Elizabeth Harvey, Savannah Anderson, Alexis Anderson, Landon Anderson, Ravyn Harvey
5 Great Great Grandchildren, Phoenix Jones, Nova Jones, Magnus Jones, Audrina Williams, Adley Page
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Luther and Lilly Mae and 10 siblings, Ernest, Mary Clara, Charles, Bill, David, Arnold, Hazel, Nancy, Audrey, and Granddaughter April Burton, Great Grand Daughter, Aela Jones.
