Obituary of Donna J Zetzl

Donna J. Zetzl was born April 22, 1968, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and went home to the Lord Friday, November 2, 2018. She was the daughter of Alfred and Ruth (Sitzman) Zetzl. Donna grew up in Speedway, Indiana, where she was a 1986 graduate of Speedway High School and a 2006 engineering graduate of IUPUI.

Donna was an independent, strong-spirited individual who loved baking, grilling out, Kenny Rogers, and Florida. She was a Girl Scout, McDonalds lover, and VBS teacher. Donna was also known as Doodles during her time as a clown with Smiles Unlimited where she brought joy and laughter to those in nursing homes, prisons, and other social environments. She had a great sense of humor and when given the opportunity would “yank ones chain.”

Donna was creative and took an interest in fixing things when possible which required her engineering knowledge beyond the workplace. Prior to receiving her engineering degree she worked in the mortgage industry.

Perhaps the most noted thing about Donna was her love of the television show Survivor. This was the only show she watched without fail. If you called her at 7:45 on show night, she would let you know that you had 14 minutes to talk.

Donna was the loving mother of Bradley (Crystal) Nelson and Alex Nelson; beloved sister of Mary Helen (Paul) Valentine, Rose Ann (Tim) Shilson, Kathy (Yancy) Stults, and David Zetzl; grandmother of Karmah and step-grandmother of Mark, Michael, and Mason.

Visitation for Donna Zetzl will be Monday, November 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th St., Indianapolis. The funeral Mass will be Tuesday, November 6, 11 a.m., at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 5301 W. 16th St., Speedway.
