Obituary of Thomas Meggenhofen
Thomas G Meggenhofen II, 74, passed away peacefully at his home in Plainfield, IN on August 13, 2018. Thomas was born on April 23, 1944 in Indianapolis, IN to Thomas G. and Mary Jane Eble Meggenhofen.
Tom was employed by IBM for 25 years as a computer programmer and traveled the world in this capacity. While living in NY, he was Firefighter, and EMT. He later taught others, saving lives, as an EMT instructor. He was a professional photographer in the US and in England, using his innovative ideas to create a successful business. Tom was an Eagle Scout and played the trumpet in the Boy Scout Band, that was invited to play in the Macy's parade in NYC. He enjoyed photography, always snapping pictures of the ordinary to the unusual. Additionally, he loved working on electronics and computers, model trains, bird watching and creating yard ornaments out of recycled materials. He was a talented craftsman withknowledge and skills that never ceased to amaze those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 18 years, Linda Meggenhofen; daughter, Julie Meggenhofen of Poughkeepsie, NY; son, James Meggenhofen of Amherst, NY; brother Dan Meggenhofen of LaPorte, IN and Chuck Meggenhofen of McCordsville, IN; step-sons, Aaron Spoon of Columbus, IN, Ty Spoon of Portland, OR and Joel Spoon of Columbus, IN; step-daughter, Alison Spoon of Indianapolis, IN and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM on August 19, 2018 at Friendship Gardens in Plainfield, IN South Center Street at the Gazebo.
